Standard Sun-hachi size
Blade size width is 2 3/4” (70mm) over all, with 2 3/8” (62mm) wide cutting edge, and 4 1/2” (115mm) long
Blade is marked Houju with a maker’s trademark,
“Houju” is a fictitious brand name ; it could mean a sign of sacredness & longevity.
This blade has flee bite size, less than 1mm blade chips on the laminated blade.
Sub blade is 2 3/8” (62mm) x 2 1/4”(57mm), marked Tamasakon
This is a new old stock in storage for many years.
Blades have minor rust stain caused by being stored in the wood dai base
The dai has a paper sticker marked with Teuchi Kanna (Hand-hit Kanna), Saikokyu (very best quality)
White oak with reddish stain
It measures 3 3/8” x 11 3/8” x 1 1/2"
Dai needs to be adjusted to be used as a plane.
