Thick hand held Nakayama blue green asagi tomae with a faint ring or wood pattern in lighter color. Super smooth and full of grit I found it works best on stainless steel razors although high carbon steel was a close second. One end highlights the Nakayama kawa skin with black sparkling elements. Very consistent from front to back and the weight at 872 grams seats it well in the hand as a handheld and or the relatively square ends roots it in a stone holder. There are no flaws anywhere on this stone although on the back one corner is missing at the underside junction as you can see in the photos.
