Massive thickness,  190mm long, 70mm wide, 40mm thick

One of the beautiful. This stone when wet  looks like one of the sexiest stones you will ever handle. An iro tomae or colored tomae strata stone with areas of purple yellow, orange, and dots of nashiji pear skin pattern. A super performer with just clear water is it hard enough not to slurry and with a slurry it kicks into high gear. I have shaved off of this stone using a classic Henckels Friodur razor, smooth close and comfortable and a vintage


The kawa on the ends is dark with areas of ocher and lots of sparkling black mineral elements. One side shows hand sawing patterns on clear awasedo stone showing as you can see, the other side was sawn through the kawa so darker minerals have leached into the base of the stone. This type of stone with the kawa on the sides suggests that it was harvested from a nook in the shelf of the stones layering. The cracks seen at both ends seem shallow at this time and local, but in the future they could demand some lapping skills but the general body and mass of the stone is solid.
