Umegahata Nagagumori suita #238

This is a unique stone and I honestly do not know which mine it came from, but is from the Nagagumori area of the Tenjyou ita, the same ita (strata) that uchigumori is found. It does have some "su" ancient gas void holes and some
nashiji pear skin spotted patterns and is fairly soft. I have found it to be perfect for honing and art polishing knives or even tools.

This particular stone excels at developing the contrasting polish that highlights
the characteristics of both the hagane hard steel and jigane softer iron. This is
not a sharpening stone, it will not easily remove 1,000 grit scratches, but it will polish a bi-metal classic blade in ways that synthetic or other natural stones cannot.

The back of the stone has also been lapped and it is useful but there is one
inclusion that will need to be picked out every once in a while to prevent
inadvertent scratches.

The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges
beveled unless otherwise noted.  All of my stones come with a money back
